We have been working on descriptive writing all year. This is your opportunity to show the class your descriptive writing abilities. Write a paragraph describing (in your own words) an exciting event that occurred in your story. Be sure to provide as many details as possible and provide support by using examples from the story. Remember, make sure your writing is fluid by using proper transitions.
1.) Use as many good adjectives as possible to describe the nouns in your paragraph.
2.) Use as many good adverbs as possible to describe your verbs.
3.) Use as many vocabulary words that you have learned this year.
Bilbo is slowly walking when something touches his face giving him a slight shiver. Then he jumps back really fast and stares to see what had grasped his face. A giant spider web is standing before him. He quickley leaps towards the other direction only to spot the 13 dwarves struggling in a spider web that is rapped tightley around their bodies hanging from the tall trees thick branches. Not able to process this, he slowly starts to tiptoe, looking in different directions shaking, and heads towards them. Slowly he slides his knife out of his pocket. Bilbo sluggishly graps the knifes handle and pulls it out with a whip of his hand from it's container. As he slowly joggs towards the 13 dwarves he heres a quick snap of a branch behind him. Fastly whiping his head to see what it is, his eyes meet eight or so eyes. A gigantic spider is moving towards him, not blinking, or moving quickley and suddenly away from him, he just stares into Bilbo's terrified eyes. Not knowing what to do, Bilbo raises his knife.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but at the beginning of the book when Gandolf showed up beside Bilbo Baggins house, that was the most exciting part for me because I visualized him as a tall, white-haired man with elf ears and blue robes and a staff. I visualized a frog that follows him around and sits on his shoulder just for fun and to give him a companion because in all the books I've read, there is an old wise man that has a funny little pet. I also visualized Gandolf with reading glasses because he is old and his vision isn't as good as it once was.
